Add Craft widgets to your home screen for quick access to documents and notes.

Craft offers widgets in a variety of sizes that let you view and access your documents directly from your home screen or desktop. Keep your most important notes always in view, or see your recent documents at a glance.

Widgets are available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. They work seamlessly across all your Apple devices.

Available Widgets

Craft offers three types of widgets:

Quick Open (Small)

Keep a note always in view, right on your home screen. Pick the widget, then flip it over to pick a document from Craft.

Recents (Small, Medium, Large)

View the most recent documents across your Spaces. Tap on one of your documents to open it right away, or tap on the search icon to open search in the app.

Today (Small, Medium)

See today’s tasks and any overdue tasks at a glance. The Today widget makes sure nothing slips through the cracks by surfacing tasks that are due today alongside any that are past due.

How to Add and Edit Widgets

Widgets work a little differently depending on the device, so Apple has separate instructions:

iPhone

On iPhone, widgets can be added anywhere on any home screen.

1. Long press on the home screen
2. Tap the + button in the top corner
3. Search for “Craft” and select it
4. Choose the widget size you want
5. Tap Add Widget
6. Tap the widget to configure what it displays

iPad

As of iPadOS 14, widgets can only be added to the Today View on iPad. This is the page attached to Notification Center, though Today View can also be pinned to the left side of the iPad’s first home screen.

1. Swipe right to access Today View
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Edit
3. Tap the + button
4. Search for “Craft” and select it
5. Choose the widget size
6. Tap Add Widget
7. Tap the widget to configure what it displays

Mac

Widgets on the Mac appear in Notification Center. You can toggle Notification Center by clicking the clock in the far right of the Menu Bar. On a MacBook or other trackpad, you can also swipe left with two fingers from the right edge.

1. Open Notification Center
2. Scroll to the bottom and click Edit Widgets
3. Search for “Craft” in the widget list
4. Click the + button next to the widget you want to add
5. Click Done
6. Click the widget to configure what it displays

Configuring Widgets

Once you add a Craft widget to your device, tap or click it to choose what it displays. You can:

• For Quick Open: Select a specific document to always show
• For Recents: Choose which Space to show recent documents from
• Change Space: Switch between your different Craft Spaces

How Often Do Widgets Update?

Widgets refresh automatically at least every 15 minutes and whenever you switch in or out of the Craft app. This keeps your tasks and recent documents current throughout the day.

Tips and Tricks

• Mix sizes: Use different widget sizes for different purposes
• Multiple widgets: Add several widgets to track different documents or spaces
• Smart Stack: On iPhone, add Craft widgets to a Smart Stack for automatic rotation
• Customize: Tap any widget to change what it displays
• Quick launch: Tap the search icon in Recents widgets to jump straight to search
