Craft Assistant helps you understand and work with your content using natural language. It can summarize your documents, answer questions about your workspace, and find information across your notes without requiring strict folder or tag organization. Where Craft Assistant is available

Craft Assistant works across all major platforms:
Available at space-level and document-level. Works in Documents, Tasks, Calendar, Collections, Code Editor, and browse views. The Assistant understands your current context automatically.
Web and Windows now have full Copy and Insert buttons in the Assistant panel, making it easier to work with AI-generated content.

Start a conversation

Open a document or stay in your Space view.

Select the Assistant button in the corner of the screen.

Type a question or prompt.

Review the answer and choose what to insert into your document.

Example questions you can ask

The Assistant can handle a wide variety of tasks: Understanding your content:
  • “What did I write about this topic last year?”
  • “What tasks are still open for Project Y?”
  • “Summarize all notes related to onboarding new hires.”
Working with specific content:
  • “Summarize this document in 3 bullet points”
  • “Extract all action items from this meeting note”
  • “What are the key decisions mentioned here?”
Space-level queries:
  • “Find all documents about marketing campaigns”
  • “What deadlines do I have this week?”
  • “Show me everything related to the Q4 project”
The Assistant can now understand and work with Collections, interpreting properties, relationships, and data within your structured databases.

Privacy and your data

Craft Assistant is designed with privacy first:
  • Chats stay on your device only.
  • Craft does not store conversations on its servers.
  • No content is used to train AI models.
  • Only the minimum data required to process a single request is sent to the model provider.
  • Token usage and cost are recorded for credit history and accounting only.

Choosing a model

The model you select changes speed, capability, and credit usage:
  • On-device models: Fast, private, free. Best for quick edits and simple tasks.
  • Core: Balanced for everyday in-document queries.
  • Fast: Great for space-level questions and deeper analysis.
  • Max: Advanced reasoning and multi-document synthesis (Plus plan and above).

Disable the Assistant

You can turn the Assistant off per Space:

Open Settings for the Space.

Turn off the Assistant toggle.
This setting is not synced across devices or users. If you disable it on your Mac, it will still be enabled on your iPhone until disabled there too. If you delete and reinstall the app, this setting will revert to default (enabled).

Current limitations

Craft Assistant is read-only today. You get full control over what you choose to bring into your document. Editing capabilities are already in development.
